Advanced CPR Training offers stand-alone adult, child, infant First Aid classes in Dallas and neighboring areas. These courses are for individuals who have already received CPR certification but need First Aid training certification.
What will I learn from this class?
After successfully completing this course, students will be able to
- List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers
- Describe the key steps in first aid
- Remove protective gloves
- Find the problem
- Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
- Use an epinephrine pen
- Control bleeding and bandaging
- Recognize elements of common injuries
- Recognize elements of common illnesses
- Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
- Recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers
Who should take this class? Parents, babysitters, nannies, those employed in daycare centers, child care workers, teachers, camp counselors, coaches for children’s sports organizations, other guardians, those applying for adoption, personal trainers, teachers, parents, lifeguards, airline personnel, corporate employees, factory workers and anyone who wants to receive First Aid training.
How long is this class? This class takes approximately 2 hours depending on the number of students.
