The HeartSine samaritan® PAD 450P AED with Integrated CPR Rate Advisor™
HeartSine proudly introduces their latest edition of the Samaritan PAD AED, the 450P! With the same features included on their 350P model, the 450P also includes an integrated CPR Rate Advisor. That’s right – the smallest, lightest, most durable AED is now even better!
HeartSine’s exclusive CPR Rate Advisor issues live CPR rate feedback using audible and visual guidance to assist the rescuer in performing CPR at the proper rate. This is accomplished without the use of accelerometers or pucks commonly used by other AEDs. CPR Rate Advisor uses the information provided by the electrodes to determine the rate of CPR compressions and indicates to the user if an adjustment in the compression rate is necessary.
During CPR, the 450P will announce if the rescuer needs to push faster, push slower, or “good speed” if the rate is correct. There is also a CPR rate gauge on the 450P which gives real-time visual guidance on the rate of compressions. This is accomplished without special electrodes, as the Samaritan PAD 450P uses the same Pad-Pak adult electrodes/battery combination used on the 350P.
Speaking of the Pad-Pak, the unique combination of electrodes and battery in a single cartridge unit means you only need to track one expiration date. Priced at less than some batteries, replacing the Pad-Pak is both easy and economical with expiration dates in the 3.5-4 year range. There is also a Pediatric Pad-Pak available for rescues where the patient is age 1-8, less than 55 lbs. Please note: The CPR feedback feature is not available for pediatric rescues.
As with the 350P, the HeartSine samaritan PAD 450P is the smallest and lightest (2.4 lbs with Pad-Pak) AED available, is extremely water and dust resistant (IP56), and uses the same accessories. This is obviously the AED to get if you have to carry one a lot. Put it in a trunk or backpack and there’ll be plenty of room left for the additional gear you need to haul. Impressive as the portability of the HeartSine samaritan PAD 450P AED is, it’s also great for businesses, schools, churches, and any other place you’d deploy an AED.
If you are unfamiliar with HeartSine Technologies, here’s a little history on the company. The legacy of HeartSine takes you back to the actual invention of the portable defibrillator in 1966 and the key people directly involved. One of those people, Professor John Anderson (MPHIL, Ph.D. Medical Engineering), founded HeartSine Technologies, Inc. in 1997.
Lots of accessories are available for the HeartSine samaritan PAD 450P AED, too. If you are considering storing the device in an AED cabinet, we recommend the compact cabinet line.
